How Many Tables Do You Need for 100 Guests?
Wedding seating plans can become unnecessarily difficult! But we are here to help. A common question we get asked is ''How Many Tables Do You Need for 100 Guests?''
When our customers are creating their seating plans, we are often asked how many tables they will need at their venue.
Depending on the table style and space of your venue, this can vary a lot, but this guide will give you a generic answer which you can adapt to suit you.
Traditional
We generally follow an 8 people per table rule. This is just enough for everyone to have some good conversations, without making the tables too crowded.
This rule works better with traditional seating plans, with round or square tables.
Following this, you would need 12.5 tables. If you are having a top table as well, then you could probably get away with having 12 main tables, but we would recommend to go for 13 in case unexpected guests and plus ones arrive.
For a large wedding with 100 guests, we'd recommend to have at least 8 people per table, as there simply won't be enough room at most venues for more tables.
For weddings with fewer guests, you can probably afford to sit 6 guests around each table.
Modern
Recently, we have seen the rise of long tables that will nearly fill the length of the room you're in.
Obviously, depending on the length of the room, the amount that you need will vary. But you'll probably need around two or three tables.
If you're worried about your seating plan or have any questions, it's best to get in touch with your venue. They will have seen so many weddings before and can give you the best advice for your situation.
