The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely got in the way of many people's plans this year! But don't panic, Halloween 2020 can still be so much fun when celebrating from home. Here are some of our favourite ways that you can celebrate:
Decorate
Get your house into the traditional Halloween spirit with some spooky decorations! Some festive banners, lights, and fake spiders will set the scene completely. Make sure that you also dim your main lights - nothing is scarier than the dark!
Pumpkin Carving
A couple of spooky pumpkins outside your house is perfect for setting the scene, and makes for a fun afternoon with the family. Whether you're an adult, a child, or a teenager, carving pumpkins is sure to keep you entertained for hours.
You can get creative with any designs you like, whether that's a traditional jack-o-lantern or a haunted house!
Zoom Party
Just because you can't see all of your friends this Halloween, doesn't mean you can't celebrate with them! A zoom call is a great way to connect with friends, and show off your Halloween décor. You can also play fun Halloween games together, such as a Halloween quiz or spooky charades. You could even get dressed up!
Sweet Treats
Halloween is all about treating yourself! So, why not create your own tasty treats? Some adorable Halloween cookies are so much fun to create, and are also perfect for sharing on social media. They're super cute so are sure to be loved by everyone!
If you're feeling creative, you could even create a whole Halloween menu. Your family will love a spooky starter, main, and dessert. Halloween cocktails are also so much fun to create (and drink!). Some fun Halloween recipes include a '
Bloody Mary', a '
Vampiro', and a '
Blood Beetroot Cocktail'. We are also loving these '
Eyeball Snot-tail' mocktails for kids.
Watch Scary Movies
Scary movies are fun for everybody! So whether you love watching gripping horror movies or a PG friendly Halloween cartoon, you're sure to be able to find a entertaining film to watch. Don't forget your popcorn!
Dress Up
Even though you're not going out, there's still no reason you can't dress up for Halloween! The whole family can dress up, and have a fun photoshoot.
We have also seen some adorable outfits for pets, so you could even get your dog involved this year!
Listen to Halloween Songs
Don't forget to turn on your Halloween playlist! Some of our favourite traditional spooky songs include 'Thriller', 'Monster Mash', and 'Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead'. If you don't want to create your own playlist, you can find lots of Halloween playlists online, so be sure to take a look.
Play Halloween Games
Traditional Halloween games such as apple bobbing, can still be played with your family.
There are so many amazing Halloween game ideas online, so be sure to take a look and see what suits you and your family.

You could also get Halloween gifts for your friends! Why not leave a fun party bag on their door filled with Halloween treats?
